Claire Eliassen, MA, LPC
“I love being a therapist because I get to work with amazing clients and journey alongside as you find health, meaning and self-confidence.”
It is a privilege to work with you and be a small part of your life. I’ve been a therapist for over 7 years and love helping clients feel empowered and rejuvenated to face adventures.
Meet Claire
I care about helping kids and families heal, be their best, connect and find ways to move beyond hard life events. I was an emotionally sensitive kid and didn’t know how to cope in healthy ways with my own stress and the pain of the world.
After studying elementary education in undergrad I realized I wanted to help kids on a more personal level. I worked in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa and saw that the joys and sorrows of life were definitely where I wanted to be involved. My own experiences with therapists and counselors showed me the power of connection.
Supporting smart young ladies find more connection and strength, to be their audacious selves. Sometimes this means wrestling with a difficult past that gets in the way, or practicing speaking up, or finding healthy ways to express anger or sadness, or trying new ways to take care of self.
Working with children professionally for over 15 years I have found that using play therapy is like speaking a child’s language.
I have worked in a variety of settings: private practice, community mental health, schools, and overseas.
